Plan for Success

Gather all of your necessary supplies & prepare yourself mentally for nails this fabulous! It’s okay, you can take a moment. In your pressaholic box you will find your Pressaholic Nails, jelly tabs , one-time use nail glue, individual nail file & cuticle stick & you will need to bring to the party the isopropyl alcohol, alcohol wipes or acetone and some cotton balls or pads. Those are your oil removers. Make sure you start with clean, dry and trimmed natural nails and don’t forget your cuticles. PUSH THEM BACK, GIRL!   If you have never done this, then head out to the internet and get some instructions. This is important business and your want your entire nail bed available for these fabulous nails to cover!

Size DEFINITELY matters!

Lay out your nails on a flat surface in front of you, in numerical order. Pressaholic nails will have a number from 0 to 12 under the tip & you will place the press-on on top of your natural nail. Make sure it sits on top of your natural nail comfortably & the edges of the press-on reach but do not go past your side of your finger. The tip should never touch your skin. Always make sure the press-on sits flush with your nail when you are sizing. You do not ever want to have to push the nail down to make it fit your nailbed. This causes too much pressure on the nail and can cause a pop off. Who needs all that negativity in their lives? Now that you have your nails chosen, make sure you lay them out in front of you like beautiful little hands for easy access and to ensure you always place the perfect nail on the correct natural nail.

Pro Tip: The numbers on your nail tips will always be at the tip of your natural nail, never by your cuticle.

Prep, baby...PREP!

Now that your natural nails are clean & dry & you pushed those cuticles back; it’s time to party! Grab your oil remover & cotton & thoroughly wipe down your entire nail bed. You want that nail bed to be dry like the sahara, sister. This ensures a clean & dry surface for your pressaholic nails to adhere to your natural nail.  See how important this is?  So, get to it!  Once you complete this, your nails are going to feel dry & sad but just go with it.  Remember that handy dandy little nail file we sent you?  Grab it & lightly scuff up your natural nail.  Take the file & move it back & forth on your natural nail lightly.  This provides a rough surface for your pressaholic nail to stick to. But, don’t get crazy!   You need those nails for the future! Some customers scuff up the underneath of the pressaholic nail, also.  Feel free if you have some time, your call.  You should have dry, scuffed up natural nails & ready for the next step!

It's A Sticky Situation

This is where our tale becomes a choose your own adventure story. Are you using your jelly glue tabs or nail glue?  Step 4 will go over the jelly glue tabs and if you are using nail glue, just proceed on to step 5. Your jelly tabs have a thin sheet of plastic that needs to be removed.  Once you remove that, you will need to make some choices.  Some of our customers put the jelly tab on the bottom of the press-on nail (the pull off tab will face the numbers on the nail tip) and some of our divas place the tab on their natural nail ( your pull off tab should be facing the same way, the tip of the press-on nail.)  Either way that you choose, you will need to make sure you have the correct size.  Remember, SIZE MATTERS!  Take your time and find the correct size that works for you and your nails.  Regardless on where we put the jelly tabs , press-on or natural nail, give the adhesive enough time to set and a secret pro tip, a little heat will really activate the adhesive.  Either rub over the plastic covering of the jelly tab with your hot girl finger or even a quick shot of hairdryer heat.  You can use your cuticle stick to also smooth down the adhesive completely on your natural nail.   You can use tweezers to pull off the plastic covering to expose the adhesive. Lastly, you will place the press-on on your natural nail.  Make sure you are holding it onto your nail for a minimum of 15 seconds and try to cover the entire surface area of the press-on.  Hold with comfortable pressure to ensure a great seal.

Glue It, Girl

Step 5 is for the glue gals!  The bottle inside your pressaholic nail box is sealed for your own safety to ensure quality & contains 2 grams of glue. This will be enough to apply your nails once but you will need to be conservative. To open the bottle, your options are snipping off the tip of the glue bottle with fingernail clippers (no more than a millimeter-think the tip of a pencil) or you can poke a hole thru the tip with a needle or safety pin. Remember, the bottle is sealed so there can be pressure.

Pro tip: The bottom of the nail glue can be opened from the bottle by twisting it off. We don’t recommend fully twisting off but if you slightly turn the bottom, it will release some of the pressure so when you open the bottle from the tip, glue will not leak from your new opening.

If you purchased our pressaholic Extra Strength brush on nail glue to go with your set of nails, then congratulations! You just twist open the top and brush a thin coat of glue on your press-on and your natural nail.  Make sure both are fully covered but not too thick.  You don't want the extra glue to seep out on your nails.  Remember, thin and fully covered.

Pro Tip: If you are a beginner, we recommend buying our brush-on glue for an easy, breezy application.

Tips & Tricks

  1. If you want your nails to last, then follow the directions and order our glue!

  2. Avoid using your nails as tools and be careful with activities that can stress the nails.

  3. Try to keep them dry at least 4 hours after you apply.  Preferably 8 hours if possible.

  4. Upon application, make sure you are holding the press-on onto the natural nail evenly across and at least 15 seconds.  We know, it's a long time but do it, friend!  It's important.

  5. Removing your nails is as easy as soaking your nails in warm, soapy water and you can even add some essential oils.  Oil, heat and water will help speed up the process.  You can also use the wooden cuticle stick provided to lift an edge before soaking off.

  6. When you are choosing your nails, you can file off any small plastic pieces or uneven surface on your nail tip.  Remember, always file from  underneath to avoid damaging the top of your nail.

  7. We sometimes put a topcoat on top of the nail after applying.  This will prevent any chipping or fading during wear.

  8. Under no circumstances should you ever rip off your Pressaholic Press-Ons.  Patience is a virtue!  Ripping them off is going to damage your natural nail.  DON'T DO IT.
